DA Launches the PIGS App: A Step Forward in Agricultural Innovation

The Department of Agriculture (DA), through its National Livestock Program (NLP), is making strides in modernizing the agriculture sector with the introduction of the PIGS App (Pig Identification and Recording System). This cutting-edge application was officially launched on March 25, 2025, by the Agricultural Training Institute-International Training Center on Pig Husbandry (ATI-ITCPH) in Lipa City.

Key Features and Benefits of the PIGS App:

1. Efficient Data Management:
   The PIGS App provides a digital solution for managing large volumes of farm data, a significant issue in the agricultural sector. By automating record-keeping, the app eliminates the need for manual paperwork, saving time and reducing human error.

2. Improved Farm Performance Tracking:
   By automating technical performance tracking, the app allows farmers and agricultural workers to analyze trends, enabling them to make data-driven decisions and improve farm operations.

3. Supporting the INSPIRE Project:
   The PIGS App will initially be piloted among the beneficiaries of the INSPIRE Project, a significant initiative under the DA-NLP aimed at enhancing the productivity and welfare of farmers.
